5 HMO Mix by Chr. Hansen

2'-FL is the most abundant HMO in breast milk and is most researched together with LNT, 3-FL, 6’-SL and 3’-SL. Our team has successfully established the industrial production of the five most important human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) and thus launched its next product generation, the MyOli 5 HMO Mix, which contains both neutral and acidic HMOs.

Health benefits and studies

All HMOs in the MyOli 5 HMO Mix have been reported to reduce growth of several common harmful bacteria. The single ingredients of the new HMO-Mix support a natural gut microbiome by nourishing beneficial gut bacteria such as bifidobacteria, lactobacilli and bacteroides.1, 2 Furthermore, 2′-FL, 3-FL and 6′-SL support intestinal motility and intestinal epithelial cell maturation.3, 4 Fucosylated and sialylated HMOs also exert immune benefits. They may help support normal levels of cytokines and immune markers in infants5 and balance immune responses.6 Specifically 3′-SL and 6′-SL are suggested to positively support brain development in infants by affecting cognition and regulation of neurons.7
